The Lion, The B!tch, and The Wardrobe

In Co-Production with Wales Millennium Centre
Supported by Arts Council Wales

It’s the second coming from the team that brought you XXXmas Carol!

We've been rummaging deep in our wardrobe to find you some presents, and we've pulled out drag, circus, songs, burlesque and an old bottle of eggnog flavoured lube.

Travel with us into another world, filled with flirty fauns, leggy lions and the baddest bitch of them all.

It may be winter forever here, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to get H.O.T.

Putting the ‘ass’ into Ass-lan, and the ‘beaver’ into Mr and Mrs Beaver, we’re bringing you a night you will never forget.

What People Said:

“two and a half hours of laughing, cheering, gasping, recoiling, wincing, and smiling”

“The Lion, The B!tch and the Wardrobe manages to brings a fresh take on the Christmas cabaret.”

“Paying homage to the Welsh roots and communities that bind our ensemble together, we’re taken on a psychedelic trip that not only has fantastic acts but also a message of hope and optimism, of lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down. It’s a powerful message and a much-needed one in our current circumstances.”

“this production does not shy away from standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, the rights of the working classes, and a call-to-arms against corruption. The sheer diversity of the cast itself is a statement itself whilst also an invitation to community and acceptance.”

— Sam Patterson, Wales Arts Review

“A glorious ensemble piece, like a Berlin cabaret via Splott”

★★★★★
— Chris Williams, Buzz

“Putting the gold clad ass into Ass-lan, the ‘B’ into B!tch and plenty of Ho Ho Hos, prepare yourself for a naughty night of entertainment that will have you roaring with laughter.”

— Wales 247

“breathtaking performances that will literally have you holding your breath, familiar songs sung by some amazing voices and routines that will have you screaming!”

“a hilarious and dazzling night out”

“his cabaret delight is filled with burlesque, belly dancing, acrobatics, drag and all-around amazing talent that will leave you waiting for next year.”

The DiffDaff

“a fresh, flirty, raunchy, raucous take on the classic story and certainly one that would have C.S. Lewis running into the wardrobe, never to be seen again.”

“You will see bottoms, of that there is no doubt.”

“a sharp, funny, incredibly immersive experience which is guaranteed to titillate, amuse, excite and perhaps even shock you, in the best possible way”

— South Wales Life

“creating a queer retelling of a story originally created by a devoted Christian is not only an extremely powerful and political statement but also the fantastical elements of Narnia lend themselves beautifully to the series of unique performances”
